How to Moisturize Your Dry Scalp

Image
A lot of people pay more emphasis on moisturizing hair than scalp. If you have dry scalp, you could also have a scalp condition known as scalp psoriasis. This consists of plaques or scales that can cause white flaking and look like dandruff. However, if you have oily scalp, you might have a condition known as seborrheic dermatitis. This leaves oily, waxy patches on your scalp.  Also another reason why you should moisturize your scalp is to avoid dandruff. What to Use to Moisturize Your Scalp Scalp Oils Scalp Oils will help to moisturize your scalp. Start by spraying a liquid like water, aloe vera juice, or even rose water or green tea and then use your scalp oil. How to Keep Grey / Gray Hair Moisturized

Image
Picture credit: OUCHGreyGirl During my Instagram Live today on DiscoveringNatural IG page, I got asked "How to keep grey natural hair moisturized". I have just a few grey hair but have not had any issues with moisture with them, so here is what found out in my research.  Do you have gray hair? Share what you use and your hair routine with us. CurlMix explains why your gray hair lacks moisture: "In every hair strand we hold, there’s a follicle, which contains pigment cells that produce melanin. Melanin is the super power that allows for our hair to produce colors (such as brown or black or blonde). Over time, the follicle will produce less melanin; it’ll also produce less sebum. Sebum is a natural oil that our scalps produce to keep our hair moisturized as it grows." "Make sure you are using very moisturizing conditioner, and perhaps include a weekly hair mask in your regimen. Seal in moisture after the shower with a good leave-in conditioner, hair oil or moistu

How many times do you add hair to knotless braids? | DiscoveringNatural

Image
Here is a simple guideline to know when to add hair when doing knotless braid. 1. For each braid, you will be adding 4 pieces of hair extensions.  2. The more hair you add, the bigger the braid, the less hair you add, the smaller the braid.  3. Adding gel on the part and base/root of the hair is optional but it does give the braid a cleaner look at the base. 4. When adding hair, some people add after the first stitch of the braid, but if you want your braid to be longer, you can add hair after 2-3 stitching with the one hair piece before you add another. The more of an interval you give, the longer the braid will be. If you want one on one help with your hair, you can use this link to contact me  http://bit.ly/NaturalHairCoach Breakage is something everyone struggles with one time or the other during their hair journey.
