Can Combing Your Hair Cause Split Ends?

Image
Can Combing Your Hair Cause Split Ends? Lack of moisture is a major culprit of dry hair which can lead to split ends. You can cause MECHANICAL DAMAGE to your hair when using combs the wrong way on your hair.  When we run a comb or brush through our hair, our strands bend, twist and stretch, causing strain on the hair fiber.  If you comb natural hair while it is dry and not moisturized, this can break the “bonding glue” between each layer of the cuticle, causing the layers to separate from one another, known as de-cementation, and lift away.  This is what causes split ends for some people. How to properly comb your hair  https://youtu.be/rwYXY3SayJw Your hair can’t get longer if your ends are continuously splitting and breaking.

Can You Leave Conditioner in Your Hair Overnight?

Image
Deep conditioning can help with the moisture and nutrient adaptation of your hair. It can help to hydrate your hair and make it softer. Most deep conditioning will tell you on the product direction how long to leave it in. However some people feel the need to leave it in for hours.  In my opinion, it is unnecessary because usually after 30 minutes, your hair would have absorbed the amount of the deep conditioner properties as needed. Any time afterwards is unnecessary and you risk causing moisture overload to your hair. Moisture overload can lead to hair feeling limp, gummy and lifeless.  This can also lead to hygral fatigue, which causes hair to be fragile and break. So next time you deep condition, follow the direction on the product and if you make homemade deep conditioners that work for you, leave in for 30 minutes. To intense deep conditioning, cover hair with plastic cap, wrap with a warm towel for 30 minutes. You can also use a heated cap or sit under a hooded dryer or use a

How to Get Rid of Lice Fast

Image
First, what causes Lice ? Lice in hair are usually caused by the presence of tiny parasitic insects known as head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis). These lice infest the scalp and hair, where they feed on blood and lay eggs (nits) near the base of hair shafts. Head lice are typically transmitted through direct head-to-head contact with an infected person, sharing personal items like combs or hats, or occasionally through contaminated bedding or clothing. They are more common in children and can be easily spread in close quarters, such as schools. Treating lice infestations usually involves using specialized shampoos or treatments designed to kill the lice and their eggs, as well as thorough cleaning of personal items and the environment to prevent reinfestation.   How to get rid of Lice Fast If you are thinking Relaxing will get rid of lice, click here . How Too Much Sugar Affects Your Hair

Image
I was researching on how our diet affects our hair growth retention and came across this post from NaturallyCurly.com Read More here. Here is one of my Ah-ha moments from that blog post: Most discourse about hair health focuses on hair products and regimen , but what we consume is actually just as important.  …. It has become an accepted concept in the beauty industry that too much  sugar is bad for your skin.  It can leave your skin prone to breakouts, premature aging, and discoloration. Research has found these effects for your skin and they are widely accepted now, but the relationship between sugar and our hair is not as commonly understood. Sugar has been proven to have negative impacts on the scalp and hair, but the good thing is, you have complete control over how much you consume. …. “ When inflammation is constantly driven by high glycemic and high sugar diets, it messes with the immune system and that is where the high sugar diets are coming more into play with hair health,
