    I like how simple this was and it's super cute with the fedora. Were those few bobby pins enough to hold it for the entire day?

      Yes, they were. I even kept the style for 2 more days before removing the pins. Putting the pins in flat side up makes them say put.

Teaching our kids to LOVE their HAIR

Growing up as an only girl, my mother would take me to the hairdresser every Saturday. It was a ritual.  After pancakes, then it was time to go to get my hair done. I don't remember having conversations about hair care with my mother. Even into my adulthood, such a conversation never took place. The only information I got about hair care was either from my stylist or friends. I didn't have the luxury of the INTERNET or Hair Forums and Meetups . I feel blessed to have two beautiful girls, whose characters are as different as their hair texture/types.  Big Sis is my gentle spirit and always willing to help others and learn from them, while Lil Sis is adventurous and her active and sometimes wild spirit keeps me on my toes. Detangling a Tenderheaded Kid's Hair

My younger daughter is extremely tenderheaded.  Just the slightest touch of her hair causes her to cry.  Unlike my older daughter whom I can cornrow, thread, or do any styles on, I have only been able to do twists without her crying. Today is her wash day, and as you can see, she has lots of hair that needs to be detangled! I literary have nightmares when I think about detangling her hair and dealing with the tears that accompany the process.  Here is how I accomplished a tear-free detangling session! Pick your detangling location I choose our game room. This room is her favorite room in the house. Provide distraction Turned on the TV to her favorite show. I also provided her with a small snack.
