Sealing your ends




Why is it important to seal your ends?
Sealing your ends is the process of preventing your hair from breakage and split ends by moisturing the ends of your hair.  The ends of your hair is the oldest part of your hair strands and this tends to be the driest.  When your ends are not properly moisturized, they become brittle and more prone to split-ends and breakage.  If you want to retain length, it is essential that you seal the ends of your hair.

How do you seal your ends?
When I seal my ends, I first start by misting my hair, especially the ends, with water or water and aloe vera juice.  After this, I use my oil mix, which also contains Jamaican Black Castor Oil, a thicker oil that coats hair and locks in moisture, to coat the ends of my hair.  If your hair is in twists, you can just apply the oil to the ends of your twists. If your hair is not in twists, start by sectioning your hair, and coat the ends of your section hair.  You can also use Shea butter.  After coating your ends, make sure to protect them by either twisting, if not already done.  If your ends are damaged, do a trim or dust before you start the sealing process.  This process can be done three to four times a week, or as needed. 

Remember:  To retain length, you have to care for your ends and moisturize! moisturize! moisturize!
