Why does hair shrink when you spray it with water?
Hair can appear to shrink when sprayed with water due to the water's weight causing the hair shaft to compress and flatten, making it look shorter. Additionally, water can cause the cuticle layer of the hair to swell, leading to a temporary reduction in hair length. This effect is usually temporary and the hair will return to its normal length once it dries.
