Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor Ingredients Change

Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor

Since going natural, my #1 go-to protein treatment has been Aubrey Organics GPB Conditioner. This has worked well for the girls and I, however, I always wondered what the hype was all about the Aphogee Protein Treatments. Instead of taking a huge plunge into the world of heavy-duty protein treatments, like the Aphogee Two-Step Protein Treatment, I decided to try the lighter version, Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor.

WITHOUT READING THE INGREDIENT LIST....

I got the largest bottle, because you all know, we have a ton of hair in da house... minus THE MAN of course!

It was not until after I had used it that I noticed the ingredient list was different from what was posted on Sally's Beauty online or in numerous natural hair blogs. Unlike Aubrey Organics GPB which is all natural, this one had a lot of ingredients that I could not pronounce. The main one that stuck out to me

was the fifth ingredient, Mineral Oil.

Here is the OLD ingredient list:

Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60, Behenamidopropylamine Behenatem Stearolkonium Chloride, Cetrimonium Chloride, Cocodimonium Hydrolyzed Hair Keratin, Hydrolzed Mucopolysac Charides, Sodium Coco Collagen Amino Acids, Wheat Germ Fatty Acids, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Arachidonic Acid, Squalane, Avocado Oil, Acetimide MEA, Panthenol, Wheat Germ Oil, Jojoba Oil, Tocopherol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sulfur, Amodimethicone, Polyquaternium 10, Linoleamidopropyl PG Dimonium, Chloride Phosphate, Tallowtrimonium Chloride, Nonoxynol 10, Cocoyl Sarcosine, Sorbitol, Fragrance, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

  1. I use the Balancing moisturizer which had the mineral oil in it. Didn't realize it until your post. It does work really well, but I did notice I have to dilute it A Lot for it to not build up as opposed to previously when I could use it at my normal mixture measurements

    1. Thanks for sharing. I was going to get the Balancing moisturizer also but they did not have it. However, I have used the treatment 3 times now, and my hair has not reacted negatively, instead it has flourished. I will blog more about it tomorrow.
