If you have been wondering what the girls and I have been using on our natural hair for the past few months, here they are:
I really appreciate all that you do in regards to natural hair care education! I have been using natural hair care products on my daughter for 6mo. or so and I haven't seen any growth. she's 5 and it's like her hair has stopped growing for a year now. Any advice?
If the thin hair has always been thin, it could be the nature of your hair follicles where you have that fewer number in that area versus other parts of your hair. The only way to know the viability of your hair follicles is to see a trichologist. If a trichologist says they are viable, he or she can suggest treatments. You could also try massaging with growth oils. If that area is where you pulled hair from the most, the follicles could be damaged but only a trichologist can test that area.
Is Your Hair Very Dry? Here is what you can do. When you wash your hair, use a moisturizing deep conditioner after shampooing. Apply a moisturizer to each section and then you can divide those sections and then take a wide tooth comb and gently comb from ends of hair to the root. After combing each section twist it before proceeding to the next. Untwist each section when done if you want to wear your hair out in an Afro. How to comb: https://youtu.be/rwYXY3SayJw During your hair wash day, using a deep conditioner after shampooing can help soften your hair. Also using a leave in conditioner after your final rinse can help too. If you are not moisturizing your hair regularly, your hair will be dry. Oils are not moisturizers. Use a creamy moisturizer instead and then an oil afterwards if needed to seal the hair. How to moisturize: https://youtu.be/-0ta-PH6vV0 Never allow your hair to get dry, check it daily to see if
