Why does my scalp itch when I use Jamaican Black Castor Oil?

Issue: “My scalp itches whenever I use Jamaican Black Castor Oil.” 😩 Possible Reasons: It’s too thick – Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO) is very heavy and can clog pores or trap buildup, especially if applied directly to the scalp without dilution. Product buildup – If not washed out regularly, residue mixes with sweat and sebum, leading to itchiness or flakes. Allergic reaction or sensitivity – The ash content from roasting the castor beans can irritate some scalps. Dry scalp underneath – Sometimes the oil just coats the scalp instead of moisturizing it, leading to dryness and itchiness underneath.
