The week was the girls' first week back in school. It's bittersweet for me because I will miss them when they are at school, however, I am looking forward to all the wonderful new things they will learn this year. YLANG YLANG ESSENTIAL OIL FOR NATURAL HAIR Ylang ylang essential oil is steam distilled from the flowers of Cananga odorata . This aromatherapy oil which is used to manage high blood pressure, acne and stress can also be used to make natural hair care products. Ylang Ylang Shampoo Ylang ylang essential oil is used to treat dandruff and it can be formulated into an anti-dandruff shampoo. Recipe 50 drops ylang ylang essential oil    4 oz (120 ml) liquid Castile soap 2 oz (60 ml) water To prepare this dandruff clearing shampoo, simply mix all the ingredients in a dark bottle. To use this ylang ylang shampoo, massage it onto the scalp and wait for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water and conditioning the hair. Ylang Ylang Hair Mask Ylang ylang essential oil relieves itchy scalps and it can be used to make a mask for irritated scalps. Last weekend, Big Sis styled her hair in Bantu Knots Out using Eden Bodyworks Coco Shea Berry Curly Crème . Click here to watch her tutorial .   Yesterday, I decided to re-moisturize her hair using the LCO method: spritz with water, apply the berry curly crème, seal in moisture with Bolden Shea Oil .   I chunky twisted the front half of her hair and put the back in smaller twists. I wanted to see how the style will look. Here is the results:

My 10 Tips to Growing Long Natural Hair

I get asked many times on How to Grow Long Natural Hair . I did a video on this topic [Click here to watch] , however for those people who are not able to view the video, here is a brief summary. 1. Start from inside: Make sure you are eating healthy, green vegetables, and drinking water   2. Moisturize your hair frequently to reduce breakage   3. Strengthen your hair by doing protein treatments at least once a month   4. Seal in the moisture especially paying attention to the ends of your hair. Growing hair is more about retaining the length you already have. Hair is always growing.   5. Use a thick butter like Shea butter or an oil to seal in the moisture. Sealing in moisture just means, after moisturizing with a water based moisturizer, apply the sealant product on top to keep the hair moisturized longer.   6.
