YLANG YLANG ESSENTIAL OIL FOR NATURAL HAIR

Ylang ylang essential oil is steam distilled from the flowers of Cananga odorata. This aromatherapy oil which is used to manage high blood pressure, acne and stress can also be used to make natural hair care products.

Ylang Ylang Shampoo
Ylang ylang essential oil is used to treat dandruff and it can be formulated into an anti-dandruff shampoo.
Recipe
50 drops ylang ylang essential oil   
4 oz (120 ml) liquid Castile soap
2 oz (60 ml) water
To prepare this dandruff clearing shampoo, simply mix all the ingredients in a dark bottle.
To use this ylang ylang shampoo, massage it onto the scalp and wait for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water and conditioning the hair.
Ylang Ylang Hair Mask
Ylang ylang essential oil relieves itchy scalps and it can be used to make a mask for irritated scalps.
Recipe
10 drops ylang ylang essential oil   
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp coconut oil
1 Tbsp olive oil
To prepare this hair mask, mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
To use the ylang ylang mask, massage it onto the scalp and smooth it over the hair. Wear a shower cap for 30 minutes before shampooing and conditioning the hair.
Ylang Ylang Scalp Massage Oil
Ylang ylang essential oil reduces hair loss and it can be diluted with oils that are easily absorbed by the scalp to make a scalp massage oil for thinning hair.
Recipe
36 drops ylang ylang essential oil
3 oz (90 ml) jojoba
To prepare this scalp massage oil, mix all the ingredients in a dark bottle.
To use the ylang ylang massage oil, rub it into the scalp using gentle circular movements at least once a day.
Ylang Ylang Essential Oil Contraindications
Before adding ylang ylang essential oil to your hair care regimen, ensure that you do not have low blood pressure. Persons who have sensitive scalps should also not use this aromatherapy oil.
