Friday Fun: Natural Hair for Dolls

 My girls have lots of barbie dolls that they play with everyday.  Most of their dolls have straight hair and not curly or kinky hair. I saw this blog post on Beads, Braids and Beyond that showed step by step instructions on how to make straight haired dolls into curly, coily, kinky hair.

Hair porosity refers to how well your hair absorbs and retains moisture. There are three main levels of porosity: low, medium, and high . To determine your hair porosity, you can use the following methods: 1. The Float Test • Take a few strands of clean, dry hair (no product or oil on it). • Fill a glass or bowl with room-temperature water. • Drop the hair strands into the water and wait 2–4 minutes. • Low porosity: Hair floats on top, as the cuticles are tightly closed and resist absorbing water. • Medium porosity: Hair slowly sinks to the middle, as it absorbs a balanced amount of water. • High porosity: Hair quickly sinks to the bottom, as it absorbs water easily due to open or damaged cuticles. 2.
