This is why I am very excited about this new series of DIY hair products. Let's start off the series with a Protein Treatment that can be used on adults and children's hair. Wash Day Dairy: Sept 12th 2014: Why the Neglect?

Image
This week, my hair has been acting quite funny. Well, I did wear it out more often. I have been so busy this week with soccer, homework for the girls, videos for DiscoveringNatural and DNVlogsLife and also for 4CHairChick Kids Series. Have you watched episode 1 yet? Click here if not . Because of all this reasons, I did not moisturize my hair as much. I know! I know!. Since I am still strapped for time, I decided to do a No Fuss Wash Day, similar to this, but much more moisturizing. Pre-Poo Two days ago, yeah you read that right...SMH! I detangled my hair and saturated my hair with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and V05 Strengthening Conditioner .  The plan was to clarify my hair the next morning with Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Hydrating-Clarifying Shampoo but that did not happen.  With 3 soccer practices across town, I wore my hair in the detangled twists covered with a plastic cap and bonnet and beanie those two days. LOL! 2 days later... My hair was ...

Natural Hair Tips (2012 series)

Image
If you are following my Facebook page , you would be aware that I love sharing natural hair and transitioning hair tips that I find or read. I also love to do research on anything concerning the care of hair. In case you missed it, or you are not on Facebook, here are all the tips I share in the year 2012. If you find that gels dry up your hair, try doing this: Apply a moisturizer prior to putting the gel. To help with length retention, focus on putting more moisturizer on your ends than the full length of your hair. If you have to moisturize your hair several times a day, your moisturizer might not be working for you. If you are experiencing breakage and have done everything; moisturizing, protein treatment, deep conditioning; check the water you use to wash or spritz your hair. If you have hard water, this can be the culprit. Use distilled water to wash your hair after you have used a chelating shampoo to remove the mineral deposit from your hair. When using Shea but...

Wash Day Diary: June 6th 2014: Black Tea Experiment

Image
I decided to start a Wash Day Diary series.. Why? Well, whenever I wash my hair, I sometimes write down what I use in my notebook. Many times I have lost this book .... or the girls have doodled on it... and... oh well... this is the safest and most convienent place to put my findings. For all products that I use, click on the name to be transferred to the image of the product. Today, I decided to start my Black Tea Experiment . Black Tea is great for shedding and hair growth. I am mainly experiementing the shedding factor for you all. Prior to today, I have weaned myself off my regular Garlic Diet so that I can have an unbiased review of the truth behind Black Tea Rinses. Before I release a DIY video to the public, I make sure that I have tested it for at least a month so that I can give an unbiased review. This is the same thing I do when I do Product Reviews for companies. Pre-wash Day Saturated 4 Tea bags of Lipton Black Tea (Natural Energy) in 4 cups of hot ...
