Natural Hair Regimen
(updated December 18th 2015)
(My regimen while transitioning: Month 9-12)![]()  | 
| Big Chop November 17, 2012 after 1 year transitioning | 
Once a week 
- Section hair into four parts
 - Spritz each section with water and apply Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and then apply a rinse out conditioner and twist
 
- When all sections are done, cover hair with plastic cap and thick knitted cap overnight.
 
Cleansing
- Check my scalp: If I notice any dandruff or excessive dryness, purify my scalp with Shea Moisture Purification Masque or Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo
 
- Co-wash: Wash with a moisturizing conditioner or a co-wash cleansing conditioner
 - Deep condition hair for 30 minutes using Thermal Hair Care Hot Head cap
 - Finish with a cold water rinse or rice water rinse and spritz with Water and Aloe Vera Juice
 
Post-Wash Routine
- Apply Leave In Conditioner
 - Apply Oil Mix, and Moisturizer Cream (LOC Method).
 
- Seal ends of hair with Whipped Shea Butter
 - Put hair in style of the week
 
- Apply Aubrey Organics GBP Conditioner for 15 mins to dry hair
 - Detangle hair using a mixture of conditioner, water, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
 - Rinse off
 
Light Protein Treatment 
Cleansing
- Wash hair with a sulfate free shampoo
 - Apply a rinse out conditioner for 5 mins
 
Deep Conditioner
- Apply a moisturizing deep conditioner
 - Cover hair with plastic cap and a thick knitted hat for at least 30 mins
 - Apply a rinse out conditioner for 2 mins
 - Finish with a cold water rinse and spritz with Water and Aloe Vera Juice
 
Post-Wash Routine
- Apply Leave In Conditioner
 - Apply Oil Mix, and Moisturizer Cream (LOC Method).
 - Seal ends of hair with Whipped Shea Butter

Hot Oil Treatment/ Oil Rinsing
- Apply mixture of oils (depending on the condition of hair) to hair. Make sure oil is heated
 
Cleansing
- Wash hair with a clarifying shampoo or do Bentonite Clay Treatment
 - Apply a rinse out conditioner for 5 mins
 
- 
Deep Conditioner
 - Apply deep conditioner
 - Cover hair with plastic cap and a thick knitted hat for at least 30 mins
 - Apply a rinse out conditioner for 2 mins
 - Finish with a cold water rinse and spritz with Water and Aloe Vera Juice
 
ALTERNATIVE: When I do not have time to make my mix
I use Naturalicious Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Mix.
- Apply Leave In Conditioner
 - Apply Oil Mix, and Moisturizer Cream (LOC Method).
 - Seal ends of hair with Whipped Shea Butter
 
Post-Wash Routine
If during the week, I need to wash my hair, I will only Co-Wash and follow up with the Post Wash Routine

 - (Moisturizing): Eden Body Works Jojoba All Natural Deep Conditioner
 - (Strengthening) Aphogee 2 Minutes Keratin Reconstructor
 - (Protein): Aubrey Organics Glycogen Protein Balancing (GPB) Conditioner
 
Post Wash
- Leave In Conditioner: Giovanni Direct Leave In Conditioner
 - SheaMoisture Organic Coconut Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk
 - SheaMoisture Organic Yucca & Aloe Thickening Growth Milk
 - SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner
 - SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave In Conditioner
 - Oil Mix: My personal mix
 - Cream Moisturizer: SheaMoisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie

ReplyDeleteTo answer #1. I wash and deep condition weekly. If during the week, I feel that I need more moisture, I cowash.
The answer to #2 is yes. When using protein treatment, I make sure to do a moisture deep conditioning.
Natural Hair Treatment - Send gray away and reverse White hair causes with our amazing treatment! If color and other remedies haven't worked, don't cover the hairs - we have a cure!
ReplyDeleteDo you know of any regiment for alopecia from chemical damage. I'd been told that I have no hair follicles so my hair won't grow is that true.
