What to do if you have Short Anagen Hair Growth Phase

One of my followers mentioned that she was diagnosed with Short Anagen Hair Growth Phase. She had not been able to grow her hair more than 5 inches.

Upon researching online, here is what I found out about this diagnosis. Let me know if you have this similar issue

If you have a Short Anagen Hair Growth Phase, your hair doesn’t stay in the growth phase long enough to grow very long before shedding. Here’s what you can do:

1. Consult a Dermatologist or Trichologist

First step is to confirm the condition and rule out underlying issues like hormonal imbalances, thyroid problems, or nutritional deficiencies.

2. Topical Treatments

Minoxidil (Rogaine): FDA-approved for hair growth, can help extend the anagen phase.

Caffeine-based products: Some evidence suggests they may stimulate follicles.

3. Oral Supplements

Biotin, Vitamin D, Iron, Zinc, and Omega-3s may help support hair health if you’re deficient.

Nutrafol or Viviscal are popular hair growth supplements that some people find effective.

4. Healthy Hair Practices

Avoid heat styling, tight hairstyles, and harsh chemicals.

Use sulfate-free, gentle shampoos and deep conditioning treatments.

5. Scalp Care

Regular scalp massages can stimulate blood flow.

Use essential oils like rosemary or peppermint oil (diluted in a carrier oil).

6. Advanced Options

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Microneedling with or without topical treatments
