How To Do Feed In Cornrows / Ghana Braid / #FirstTime Natural Hair

How To Do Feed In Cornrows / Ghana Braid / #FirstTime Natural Hair

Last Sunday, I decided to finally attempt to do the trending  feed in cornrows. I started by spritzing my hair with Au Rebelle Just Water and then section my hair into 6 sections. Here's how I part the back of my hair

I used the Outre hair - 100% Kanekalon hair. Braiding with the hair was easy once I got into the groove of doing it. I spritz the hair with plain water and then separate sections of the hair going from a small section to a large section of extension hair.

For each row of cornrow, I used 4-5 sections of extension hair.

Prior to cornrowing one section, I applied some Eden Bodyworks Pudding Souffle and then right at the front of the section I spritz a little Just Water and applied You Be Natural edge tamer.

I started by first cornrowing my own hair, how to do that, about 4 notches and then added the smallest extension hair, and then cornrowing for about 3 notches and added the next section of extension hair. I continued this step until I was at the base of my head and then braided the ends of the hair.

video

Once done I just gathered the ends and created a bun on the right side of my head

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR EDGES and GROW YOUR EDGES | Natural Hair

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR EDGES and GROW YOUR EDGES DiscoveringNatural

How to Care for Your Natural Hair Edges is very important and helps with knowing how to grow your edges. The way you care for your edges will either cause breakage or cause natural hair growth.

In this video, I create a mixture of castor oil (8oz) and 8 drops of peppermint oil, an essential oil. You can find these products here:
Jamaican Black Castor Oil 8oz - http://amzn.to/2agV32H
NOW Foods Essential Oils Peppermint -- 2 fl oz - http://amzn.to/2a4wkeC

You can pour this mixture in an applicator bottle. I got mine here from my local beauty supply store or you can buy it here:
Soft 'N Style Applicator Bottle, 4 oz - http://amzn.to/2agUUMN

For daily use, you have to moisturize your natural hair edges using a shorten LOC method without the moisturizing cream. If you do choose to use a cream, make sure it is a light cream. When hair stops growing, it could be because the pores are clogged due to heavy cream. I choose not to use creams.
First, spray your edges with water, and gently massage oil mixture on it. Your natural hair regimen for your night routine for your natural hair edges is equally important.

When laying your edging or doing baby hairs on your edges, be very gentle, do not do this daily. How to lay your edges: http://bit.ly/2abs5DC
