QOTD: How do I stop my baby's hair from tangling at the back?

Image
With babies, as they grow, their hair texture and type will change. Make sure that her hair is well moisturized. Keep her routine simple. Due to the fact that she sleeps on her back 90% of the time, it will be prone to knotting. Wash her hair with sulfate free shampoo or you can wash with conditioner. If you use conditioners to "co-wash", make sure to at least cleanse with shampoo once a month or every 2 weeks. Moisturize her hair while damp. Apply some extra virgin olive oil or extra virgin coconut oil, then a light moisturizer. You can use your finger to softly detangle her hair or a soft brush. As she grows, you can do twists in her hair to keep it stretched and prevent tangles.

Wash and Go for Natural Hair Kids

Image
I've always wanted to do wash and go on my girls' hair. Before I attempt to do this, I had to first work on learning all the trick and frustrations of doing this style. In May, I did a full month of wash and go and learnt so much in the process. Click here to watch the footage. Big Sis rarely has her hair out because of all the activities she does, however, since she is on summer break, I decided to attempt doing Wash and Go on her hair. She wore the style for 4 days and love EVERY moment of it. Click here or watch her experience below: After seeing her hair in a wash and go... Big Sis said... " I FEEL .... FREE! " For those of you wondering if her hair tangled up, ... no, it did not. When it was time to re-wash, I saturated her hair with water and was able to easily detangle. FYI, her hair really tangles.

Cowashing means Conditioner Washing. It helps with keeping the hair soft. We do this process when I feel that her hair just needs an extra boost of moisture and also cleansing. Usually, if she does not have a ton of product buildup, I would cowash instead of shampooing. Moisturize Your Hair Often The first thing to know is Natural hair is very prone to being dry, so you need to keep your hair moisturized to prevent breakage.
